Maidalynne Utting is the director of Emotico, a consulting, training and coaching company specialising in the skill set of Emotional Intelligence. Emotico delivers consulting and training through workshops, EI360° ™ Assessment, coaching and keynote addresses.
As an Emotional Intelligence leadership trainer and executive coach, Maidalynne’s primary focus is management and leadership development for long–term behavioural change and optimum performance. She helps clients increase their Emotional Intelligence, understand what personal excellence means, and to manage themselves and others to peak performance levels.

She also holds expert coaching qualifications from CoachU and is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. She’s an active member of the ICFA in Auckland.

- Maidalynne has been involved in professional personal development since 1984.
- In the late 1980s she launched her company, Persona in Wellington, consulting to various industries from finance and sales to professional and service organisations. Specialising in corporate training and development, she advised global businesses on their market perception receiving international acclaim for her work.
- For fifteen years Maidalynne trained and coached individuals and corporations in London and the Middle East.
- During her ten years in the UAE, Maidalynne became a certified facilitator in “EI” – Emotional Intelligence – through The Institute for Health and Human Potential (IHHP) of Canada.
- Maidalynne was a Senior Client Partner with Franklin Covey for over 5 years, joining the Dubai office in 2000. She is a Certified Franklin Covey Facilitator and has trained in Turkey, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. She is a qualified facilitator for Situational Leadership (developed by Ken Blanchard and Paul Hersey) and trained in the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) developed by the Hermann International organisation in the US. She has been a guest speaker at a number of leadership conferences in the Gulf region and a guest judge at the University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD).
She has extensive media experience with numerous television and radio appearances and interviews both in Dubai and New Zealand.
Maidalynne is now based in Auckland, New Zealand.
